Hannah's
Beach - Adventure in South Westland's World Heritage Area
Hannah’s Beach provides a unique opportunity for visitors to stay in intimate
seclusion in South Westland World Heritage Area which offers an endless range
of activities. Whether strolling on the beach or jet-boating up the Arawhata
River
into the Southern Alps, there’s adventure and activity for all walks of
life.
The Beach
Hannah’s Beach is situated on a large sandy beach at the small Hannah’s
Clearing
Settlement. The beach is part of Jackson Bay that stretches from Mussel Point,
4 kilometres north, to the Jackson Bay settlement 19 kilometres south. Mussel
Point is only a 30 minute walk and lives up to its name. When timed with the
tides,
socks can stay dry while mussels are picked!
The ocean character in Jackson Bay
varies from tranquil waters to rough seas. Beach walks are unique every time
and
sunsets are exceptional. |
