Deep
Sea Fishing
The local deep sea fishing guide, Chris Richardson a.k.a "Budda" is
based at Hannah's Clearing and provides offshore fishing trips from Jackson Bay
wharf all year round.
The cod and grouper which are hauled on board are above average size due to these
waters being remote and infrequently fished. Many other species such as Trumpeter,
Orange Roughy, Kowhai, and Tuna are also caught.
Divers can catch the large and easily accessible crayfish (lobsters) in the coastal
waters off Jackson Head and surrounding areas. Budda can also arrange these activities.
