Hannah's Beach is centrally located among a vast array of river types, from
the flax-lined tannin waters of the slow moving Hindley Creek, to the foaming
rapids of the Waiatoto Gorge.
For jet-boaters, an all-day return trip up the braided Arawhata River, through
one of the most remote cattle runs in New Zealand, leads to many rewarding
trout and salmon fishing locations. This expansive river valley is a source
of inspiration for fisherman and photographers alike.
During summer, the eye is lead from the aqua river waters across myriad greens
of native forest sprinkled with red flowering Rata, to the still snow-clad
peaks of the Mt Aspiring National Park.
